DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY PLOT OR RELATED MATERIAL AS IN ACCORDS TO THE UPCOMING MOVIE! Just a one-shot I made for fun while the movie was coming out soon.

You sighed as you looked around the party, eyeing the various people sipping champagne and chatting wildly with one another. You were out in the corner, being the lone outer you can say, as you felt pretty foreign to be here anyway.

It wasn't that you didn't want to attend or something. You went though because you knew if you didn't, your friend would be giving you puppy eyes all day about not going and how she needed a "wingwoman" to help in case any guys she spied a liking to. However, it seemed that she forgot that was what you were supposed to be doing when in fact, she in turn was flirting away with them, completely ignoring what you were there to help her with.

While you did want to remind her about this, you didn't want to ruin her fun though. You knew later on she'd probably remember and totally apologize to you what she did. Yet, for some odd reason, being at this party made you feel pretty much like an outcast, unknown to communicate with anyone.

It was a celebration upon the invention of a new piece of equipment made for surgeons in the advancements of medicine. Your friend happened to be invited by one of her surgeon crushes, so when she asked you for back up, you couldn't resist. Only now, you wished you would fake sick.

Then again, you didn't want to be mean to her by acting like you were sick. Who knows the day when you would need her she might do the same? You were such a nice person...sort of.

Your eyes searched around for your friend, wondering where she could be now. Spying her from a distance, she appeared to be laughing loudly, clutching onto her surgeon crush, chatting wildly and waving her champagne around. No doubt, she was going to be hammered tonight. And guess who was driving?

You glanced about then to see if there was any fresh air to get away from the party for a bit. You glanced at two sets of glass doors, leading to a small balcony. Rushing to it, you swung them open and quickly shut them, locking yourself away from the party.

You took a deep breath as you sniffed in the cool, fresh breeze, feeling your skin tingle with the frigid wind. You felt goosebumps form on your skin and you shivered upon the contact. Your hair tussled a bit from the air though not crazily.

You glanced over on the balcony, seeing the view of the city. Below you, was originally the streets full of busy people walking around, cars honking at one another and lights twinkling to keep warmth. Up in the sky, it was a dark blue midnight, full of shimmering tiny star dots blazing down on the city. A photo would capture its intensity but to reimagine it as a picture...no doubt you could see the details on it.

You turned back to see people being unaware of your presence overlooking on the balcony. Least with the alcohol in their systems, maybe you'll have a little peace and alone time...

"Hello," said a strong, masculine voice.

You gulped as you looked back to see who it was. Hopefully, not some guy your friend was trying to hook you up with just because you were alone at the moment.

Sitting on the balcony's rail, cross legged, was a man with dark brown/black hair, all tousled up. His mustache and beard were connected, small and trimmed. On one streak of it was white along the sides as well. He was wearing what looked like a cloak with a cape. What got you the most about him though was his eyes. Frozen liquidated, blue, piercing eyes that gleamed at you. You felt your heart stopped.

It began to race as you noticed him leaning on the rail. "Hey, watch it!" you squealed. "You're going to fall!"

The man glanced at his sitting position. "No, I'm not," he said. "Even if I did, I'll float. No need to worry about that."

You shook your head. "Sir, you really need to get off of the ledge now! I don't know who you are or whoever...but get off of the ledge! You're going to fall and get killed."

The man rolled his eyes. "Well, hopefully, you'll see before you," he said, scooting off from the rail.

Immediately, you covered your eyes, terrified to see him fall from the ledge, slamming down to his doom. When you peeked, your eyes widen at the sight of him floating up in the air, still sitting in the same position. You felt the breeze blew pass you but you doubted that there was no way the air was what was keeping him hovering.

"How?" you asked, titling your head.

The man lifted up his cape. It was glimmering red, silky and velvet. It waved a bit with the wind breezing by it. "My cape," he explained. "It helps me levitate. Not many people can see that. You're one of the many that seen this now."

You frowned at this but waved it off, not daring to want to go into details about how it worked and such. "Ok, so you can fly and such," you said. "So....umm...what's your name? Are you some new magician in town?" (That'll explain the levitation. It was a trick).

The man glared darkly at you a bit before taking a deep breath, letting out a relief exhale. "I'm Doctor Strange," he said. "I...have a talent for magic as you implied...just a bit more advanced than some regular magical act. Let's just say I happened to be around when I spotted you in that well, ravishing dress...I mean, seeing you being lonesome and bored. What's wrong? The party not good?"

"I guess you can say that," you said, hanging over the balcony with one arm propped on it, your hand resting on your chin, glancing down at the city life. "I only came with my friend because her crush happened to be coming over here. I didn't want to be rude by saying no so I went thinking I might help her....but she helped herself. It doesn't matter anyway. I'm driving us back home."

 Strange nodded. "Who's her crush?"

 "I can't remember his name...I think it's (c/n). Yeah, that's it."

Strange pondered a bit. "Hmm, he sounds familiar," he said. "I do believe I remember him from somewhere...oh well." He plopped down from floating and onto the balcony. "I think I'll enjoy the party myself for a bit. Do you need a partner?"

If you had a drink in your hand right now, you would sure probably spat it all over his face. Did he just asked you to dance with him?

“Umm, not really,” you said, crossing your arms. “I’m fine. It’s ok. Really. The party’s almost over anyway. Thanks for the offer though. I should go back inside in case my friend gets worried.”

He waved his hand and you froze literally in time, your muscles contracted and stiff. “Please, let me help you,” he said, kindly. “A little twirl wouldn’t hurt now, would it? Plus, with you being with me, your friend wouldn't have to worry about what you're doing.”

You gulped. You wanted to dance with him and you were a bit intrigued by this mysterious man. For one, he was handsome. Two, the way he did his magical acts got you curious, wanting to know how he did them. There had to be some sort of trick he was using. And three, you wanted to see the look on your friend’s face when she spotted you dancing with him. Also, four, no doubt he’d keep you frozen here until you said yes (if only you could find out the secret to "unfreeze" yourself).

“Ok,” you said, nodding. “I’ll dance with you.”

“Excellent,” Strange said, happily. “Oh, just one second!” He snapped his fingers and in a whirl of wind, transformed his costume into a suit. His hair was poised with a little tuft and gentlemanly. You gapped at the sight of him. Dang. How in the world was he so hot and...what WERE his tricks?

“Shall we have this dance, milday?” Strange asked, bowing and lending out his arm to you.

You giggled and felt your limbs release with freedom. Taking his arms with your hands, you escorted him into the party.

You glanced around to see eyes staring at you, noting of the good-looking gentleman that carried you around. You peered your eyes around to see if your friend happened to be watching as well but the world then focused your gaze back onto Strange as he turned you around to face him.

You both then stopped to the spot where people were dancing. Grabbing one hand onto his shoulder and the other with his hand, you danced with Strange, swirling around. He had his grip on your back and his hand locked with your fingers, guiding your moves with his.

You laughed as you felt joy overcome in you, whirling around.

Soon, you felt that you were floating around off your feet, spiritually gliding with Strange. You gazed down to “see” that “you” and “Strange” were dancing around still in your physical bodies but you were both souls swiveling in the air. You wanted to scream at the sight of this but Strange chuckled. “Don’t worry,” he said, grasping onto you. “You’re fine.”

You took a deep breath as you then remembered him being a magician. Yes, this must be one of his tricks again. He’s good at this, you thought.

You flew with Strange through the party, even dancing over back to the balcony, where the moonlight beamed onto both of you. You noticed now that you were floating off the balcony, gliding above the city. You glimpsed down to see the twinkle of the car lights and the skyscrapers glowing with warmth.

You laughed with joy as you then flung yourself at Strange, gripping onto him tighter. Strange grinned and twirled you around in a circle.

You gasped down to continue to see the sights of the city you never knew existed. You loved being above it, seeing it all laid out before you. You were like a bird flying all around, the wind blowing in your face, the moonlight shimmering and the joy erupting in your body as you pranced about with a handsome magician, two birds soaring together in harmony.

You closed your eyes, not wanting the moment to be over.

You could just dance and fly forever and ever…

 “(Y/n)? Are you awake?”

You opened your eyes to see that you were back on Earth, on your feet, on the floor, with your arms still wrapped around Strange and his arms around your body as well.

“What?” you yelped, shocked. “We were just…I mean…”

Strange raised an eyebrow, oblivious to your stuttering.

“We were dancing and flying in the air…from the party to above the city…I mean…is it over now?”

Strange chuckled. “I guess so,” he joked. “Least it wasn’t a dream.”

A dream? you fearfully thought. That’s all it was? A dream? You felt your heart race, pounding with disappointment. Was this all nothing but a dream? What you and Strange just did…a dream? Wait! What were you thinking? It was one of his tricks!

“I best be going,” Strange said, taking your hand. “I would have loved to stay more but I’m tired now…the dance though was lovely. I hope you had a good evening, Ms. (y/n). It was a pleasure being with you.” He kissed your hand and then pranced through the crowds of dancing couples.

“Wait!” you shouted, following him. Yet, as you struggled to catch up, you broke through the crowd and saw that he was gone. Disappeared. Without a trace.

You felt your heart now shatter with despair, wanting to know more about Strange. Who was he? Or what was he? How did he do all his tricks?

“(Y/n)!” You turned around to see your friend racing over to you.

“Oh hey, (f/n). Did you happen to see a dark brown/black haired man in a suit with pretty…I mean blue eyed gentleman walk by?”

“Yes I did and now he’s gone and I wished he stayed longer!” (f/n) exclaimed.

You sighed, defeated. “He said his name was Strange. Does it sound familiar?”

“Yes, it is,” your friend giggled, smiling.

You frowned at her. “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing! It’s just…that guy you were dancing with…That was Doctor Strange!”

“Yeah, that’s what he told me.”

“THE Doctor Strange! Stephen Strange! The best surgeon ever! And my gawd…he’s beautiful!”

You shook your head, baffled. “What are you talking about?”

“You mean you haven’t heard of him? Where have you been?! He’s one of the world’s best surgeons ever! He went missing for a bit after that dreadful accident and then out of nowhere, here he is dancing with you and now he’s gone…. what the heck? All I got to say though is dang, you’re lucky, girl. Having a freaking charming piece of hunk like that grooving with you.”

“We were…I…” you stuttered. “We were just dancing right here…and then outside above the city…it was amazing, (f/n).”

Your friend laughed. “Well, I don’t know what tricks were going on through your head but you two were prowling it around here. Geez, how did you pick him up?”

“I didn’t! He came up to me and started asking why I was so lonely and such…he was floating above the balcony. We were dancing and then flying around the city...and now he’s gone….”

(F/n) patted your shoulder. “Aww, sorry about that (y/n). Don’t worry. I’m sure he’ll be back though. I mean, everyone here was gasping at both of you, especially him. Then, right as you stopped dancing, we all wanted to go and see him but he left. Funny though…it feels like it was just some sort of hallucination, huh?”

You giggled uncertainly. “Yeah,” you said, unsurely. “All just a dream.”

Later that night, you drove your friend home, onset of seeing her having “too much” now. “Buh, (y/n)!” your friend burped. “I’ll c yu tumarrow!”

“Get some sleep!” was all you commanded.

You then drove home, letting out a sigh of relief, jumping first thing in the shower to cool off and relax for the night. You dressed into pajamas and then hopped onto your bed.

As you tried to sleep though, your mind couldn’t ward off from Strange. His looks, his mysteriousness, who he was, his tricks…just who was he? And this Stephen Strange guy. Wasn’t he the same as him? You recognized a little bit of what your friend said now about how she hoped she’d could see some famous surgeon by that name, to see his work before her. Did they look alike? Were they the same person?

And he knew your name...you never told him your name. HOW DID HE KNOW YOUR NAME?!

You shook your head, clearing your mind of the thoughts.

I probably drank too much, you thought. That’s some champagne they must had out there.
You tried to close your eyes but the thoughts kept dancing in your mind, like picturing you and Strange twirling from the floor outside to the city…

You tossed and turned, attempting to rid of these ridiculous images and thoughts in your mind. Can I just please go to sleep? you thought.

You closed your eyes one more time. You then felt yourself drift off as you sniffed in the air, feeling yourself float off.

Go to sleep, a voice purred into your ear.

You twitched. It sounded familiar. If only you didn't feel so drowsy right now, you'd turn around to see who was talking to you. And also if you could open your eyes to groggily see the image of the person. Go to sleep, it cooed once more.

Then, finally, you zoned off to sleep, tranquility resting inside of you, soothing your muscles and shutting your mind from the world.

Strange smiled as he patted your hair. His touch to you was nothing more than ghostly since he was invisible but he could feel the softness in your hair. He glanced back to see the moon and turned back to you. He then plucked his lips, kissing you lovingly onto your cheek. He turned back to the window and prepared to fly out but grumbled, marching back into your room.

He carefully climbed into your bed, scooting your over and snuggled up close to you. I need some rest anyway, he thought. One little night away from the Santorum wouldn't hurt. Just a little nap.

He laid an arm over to you and snugged his head on yours, clasping your hand with his, pooling out his mystical energy to relive a dream you wished to have that night...of you and him dancing from the crowd into the moonlight above the city...
I suck at images...

And I hope you enjoyed this story despite it being maybe a bit predictable...and my unfortunate crush on Doctor Strange (and Cumberbatch)  now being my prime focus  (sorry Kylo) . I can't wait for the movie though! And I would have LOVED to write more for him but sadly, I only know little. I do have two stories set in motion of a small series and a one shot but for now, I'll leave them to the side as I don't want to make Strange OOC as he may be a bit in this...

Also, Happy Halloween to those that celebrate! And if not, have a nice day! Pumpkin La Ghost Avatar :witch: :bat: Blinking Cat Halloween Icon

I remember last year when you told me to always stay near and never leave me, the light from your eyes made it feel like we-e-e-e were dancing in the moonlight!
