Hey, if Poe and Kylo can get a lot of reader inserts, how come this little droid can't?

Just some warning there's a little bit of Poe x Reader as well but not much...

"Can't we keep him?" you called out to your big sister, Rey, who was already marching ahead back to your home.

"(Y/n), we can't keep him. He probably belongs to someone," Rey said, turning around.

You had your arms wrapped around the little BB-unit droid, awing over its cuteness and adorableness. You came across it when both you and your sister were laying against your home, discussing over the harshness of Jakku and possibly finding a job somewhere (much to your sister's dismay as she believed your family would come back soon for both of you).

A sound rippled through the air of a high pitched machine cry. You both got up to see where it was coming from. You saw before you a ball-like droid zooming away in a net, trapped by the scavenger riding a beast. You and Rey came over to the scavenger, freeing the little droid from its grasp.

Rey asked where he came from to which the droid replied it was top secret. She then instructed it the coordinates to the nearest town. However, the droid followed both you and your sister back to the home. He wanted to stay with both of you.

And you couldn't help but want to keep it. The droid was cute with its springiness and babbling talk. As much as he belonged to someone, you felt in your heart that you had to help him out. Maybe the owner would bring a reward for its return. Then, they wouldn't have to struggle no more.

"We'll survive the way we've always had," Rey commanded. "Scavenging. It's the way of life here now. Come on, (y/n), they'll be back soon."

"How soon?" you chirped. "You always say that but look at all these years. Same old thing everyday! Just for once, if we give this droid back to the owner, maybe we'll get a bit rich and be able to at least survive without needing to go back to that old grump."

"I know I don't like Unkar as much as myself either, but they promised..."

"If they promised, then they would of been here by now," you growled.

"Don't take that tone with me, young lady," Rey hissed. "I'm the eldest of this household and if I say that droid isn't going with us...."

"Then I'll go with it!" you snapped, marching out of the house. The little droid beeped a bit and then looked from you to Rey, raising his antenna high in the form of a question.

"Come on, (y/n), you can't be serious," Rey grumbled, already following you.

"Rey, just please, if we were to find..."

"That is enough!" Rey demanded. "How about this? We'll go give the rest of the scraps to Unkar tomorrow. Then present him to the droid. And if he finds the owner, will you be happy?"

You smiled. "That sounds a bit better," you said, nodding. "Don't forget about the reward."

You heard Rey mutter a bit before heading back inside the home, a loud clang echoing outside.

BB-8 rolled away a bit from the sound, frightened at the booming echo that followed it. You turned to him and smiled.

"Don't worry," you said. "She's just grumpy because she knows I'm partially right."

The droid looked up at you with an inquisitive look.

"You see, we do have a family but they...Mom and Dad...they left us here a long time ago. I've been with Rey ever since that day. I was more of a baby though. We're doing as all other scavengers are here...surviving and looting. The only way of life we know. They promised they'll return...but after all these years waiting...I keep telling her and she doesn't want to believe it..."

 BB-8 beeped a bit.

"And I'm tired of this everyday life! I want to go out and explore. Not to mention, fatty Unkar barely gives us half of the portion when we turn in the good stuff...he's such a cheap scape! If we helped you and your owner finds us, he or she will give a good reward. And we can get out of here!"

 The droid beeped once more.

"All right, I know it's not always about the money or anything but..." You sighed and leaned up against the wall of your house. "I don't want to struggle anymore. I don't want to see Rey do it either. I'm so tired of living here. It's hot all the time. There's barely anyone to interact with. The towns are too far and it's not like it's a nice place to go and have a drink without someone eyeing you angrily or thinking you're about to start a brawl. Stupid Biggo here cheats us out so many times on the loot and Rey acts like it's ok and..."

You grumbled and slammed your fist against it, pulling it back out as you yelped from the blow.

BB-8 rolled over to you, asking about the injured hand.

"No, I'm fine," you said, shaking it off.

You turned over to the droid. "I just...want the best for my big sister. I'm tired of seeing Unkar treating her like crap. We deserve more than this wasteland. She works so hard just for us to survive. We once had this really nice loot, all new and clean...and he said it was only worth half a portion...he probably flipping lied."

You sat down on the ground and sighed. "Sorry if I sound so bratty or anything...I'm sure you would get tired of doing the same thing everyday...or maybe just feel like there's something out there that's meant for us."

BB-8 let out a little beep as he got closer to you.

You turned your head to him. "When do you think your owner is going to come back for you?"

 Beep. Beep.

"Well, you're free to stay here," you said. "Mi casa es su casa as they use to say. Or something of the like." You smiled. "No worries though. Something's telling me not to present you to Unkar either way so I won't...and you'll be safe from my sister's rambles if she tries to kick you out."

BB-8 beeped happily and rubbed his head against your knee. You giggled seeing this and tapped the droid's head. The droid swirled over to your other side and propped its head against your knee.

You couldn't help but still smile over the droid's cuteness as it continued to spin on its body and tried to keep in balance to level on your knee.

You glanced up at the sunset, shining beneath the sand dunes. A wind kicked up, sending some dirt flying in the air.

"Let's head inside," you said. "Looks like a dust storm tonight."

And by the next day...or...couple of days...or something of the like...you realized you weren't going to go back home to Jakku. Never. Or at least, Rey had hoped so somehow. You didn't though. You were living the life now.

The discovery of BB-8 had transformed your lives into a rollercoaster of events. It all started upon Rey presenting her next stash of loot she found. While she went around searching on the abandoned ship, BB-8 asked you about the abandoned ship.

"I'm not sure, it's been here even before we got here," you said.

BB-8 glanced toward the ship and shivered.

When Rey came back out, it was off to Unkar. As usual, he only gave the "right amount" of rations to Rey but his eyes veered at the sight of the droid. It was then, he promised a good amount of rations if you and her handed him over. He poured out a whole load of rations on the counter.

You and Rey's eyes widen at this, hearing the other scavengers behind you awed at the rations. That meant no more having to struggle. Rey eagerly grasped onto the rations, daring to do it. Yet, you stood back and shook your head.

The rations were promising but the feeling of Unkar selling it to the wrong people made you feel a bit uneasy. Besides, you promised BB-8 you wouldn't sell him to Unkar. And if you did and he ended up being with the wrong crowd...there was no telling what they might do to him.

“Change of plans, we’re keeping him,” you said, signaling BB-8 to follow you. The droid obeyed, rolling alongside your feet.

Rey gapped as she watched you command the droid to follow. She was about to say something until she thought about the situation for a moment and then shook her head.

“The droid stays with us,” she said, handing the rations back over to Unkar. She picked up the half portion given and set off to join you.

It wasn’t until your sister got attacked by some people to capture the droid. Then, to top off the cake, BB-8 had seen someone that was wearing the owner’s jacket…question was why he was wearing it. And he was on the run.

You and Rey immediately ambushed him, questioning about the jacket. The man explained that his name was Finn and he was helping the owner, Poe, escape from the First Order. Poe apparently….was gone.

You turned to BB-8 who let out a sad beep. You kneeled down to him and hugged the droid.

“It’s all right,” you cooed. “I’m sure he fought hard.” You felt the droid rub his head against you. You patted BB’s head, hoping to cheer him up. The night he left him was probably the last night he'll ever see him again.

From there on, Finn explained that he was part of the Resistance, the alliance that had worked together to fight off against the First Order. You quickly felt from there that something told you, you weren’t going to be on Jakku for a very long time. As soon as you met the droid and this man, it was all over.

TIE Fighters then came down, searching and attempting to destroy both you, Finn, Rey and BB-8. You all took off and were about to jump onboard of Rey’s speeder until they blew it up, giving you all no choice but to take some old garbage ship Unkar had on the side.

Rey activated its controls and you grasped onto your seat as your eyes zoomed from the craziness happening all around you, the twirl and spins of the Millennium Falcon, the TIE Fighter’s missiles nearly missing you, BB-8 rolling around in the background.

If you could, you’d probably would of hold onto the droid, afraid that he was about to get clattered around. BB-8 proved himself useful as he attached a pair of cables to the walls.

You giggled at this, amazed how he was able to hold himself to the rockiness of the ship.

As soon as you all escaped from the TIE Fighters, you went from meeting the legendary smuggler, Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbecca, escaping a gang of bad guys and a giant monster, viewing BB-8’s map, hearing about Luke Skywalker and traveling all the way back to Takodana where a friend lived.

You weren’t sure if that was supposedly happened all in one day but if by 2 days or weekend or whatever it was…it was sure heck of crazy days you were going through.

And now, your sister wanted back to Jakku. Away from all this mess. Dragging you with her.

You wanted to scream at her that Jakku was the LAST place you wanted to be on and to which, how about stealing a ship and going somewhere else?

“No, if I say Jakku, we’re going to Jakku,” Rey hissed.

She pulled you along through the forest, full of greenery and chirps of birds. Your eyes gazed all around, viewing in everything that you never saw before. Even Rey admitted she never knew a place like this could exist. Except now she wanted to leave.

All because of what Maz said. You didn’t know whether to believe her or not as you tried to convince Rey that maybe she had too much to drink or was on something but Rey shook her head. You sensed she was afraid that Maz had somewhat of a truth in her words.

You sort of agreed with her that there was no going back to where your lives originally were. Only, you were desperate to still explore.

“Rey, we left Jakku for a reason! Now we’re on this planet that’s so pretty and full of life…maybe we can hitch a ride with some cute guys and make a new one with them?”

“Oh, for pete’s sakes, (y/n), why do you hate Jakku so much?” Rey asked. “It’s nice. It’s not bad or anything.”

“Bad? You think living in a scorched summer heat every day is bad?” you growled, pulling your arm away from her grasp. “Not to mention, Mr. Fatso is nothing but a steaming pile of crap that barely gives any of what we EARNED?”

 “(Y/n), I know it’s not the best place…but they promised…”

That’s when you snapped. You couldn’t take it anymore. She was using the same argument that you had heard ever since your childhood. And you had enough.

“Promise, promise, promise, promise!” you roared. “That’s all you ever say! You know, for once, have you ever thought that throughout all these years growing up, that they, well, particularly LIED to our faces? Where are they now, huh, Rey? If they so promise to come back, why haven’t they? I want you to answer me.”

“Don’t you dare talk to me like that, young lady,” Rey snapped. “They also gave me the promise to watch over you which I am doing. I am doing to what is best for both of us.”

“Yeah, well, don’t you ever think what’s best for you as well?” you grumbled. “You’re always putting this strain look on your face, like, everything’s fine. Don’t worry. We’ll just wait the next day. I’m sure they’ll be back. Well, guess what? Maybe Maz is right. They’re not coming back. And maybe they won’t ever. And you don’t want to admit it!”

“Listen closely, (y/n),” Rey ordered. “You’re going to be a good sister and come with me back to Jakku. We’re going to forget this all happened and wait for them to come back. Just like they promised. As I have said, it’s for the best….”

“Oh, and do what? Kiss a** to Unkar?” you raged. “You know, if it’s so the best for both us, especially for me, as you so say you want me to be good and such, why can’t you for once do something that’s the best for you? The world doesn’t always revolve around me. What about your happiness?”

Rey stood quiet a bit, not sure what to say. You thought you’d hit a nail until she gripped onto your arm again.

“A promise is a promise,” she said. “If I promised that I’ll…”

You soared your arm out of her clutch once more. Your wrath began to unfold.

“I’m sick of this,” you fumed. “I’m sick of you thinking that getting treated like sh*t is great. That’s what you’re doing. You get treated like crap all the time and think it’s all sunshine and butterflies. You so say you’re doing this for both of us when half of the time, you’re the one getting dunked, Rey. I’m tired of it. For once, can’t you just stand up for yourself and fight back?”

“I am fighting back,” Rey said. “From now on.”

“You’re only doing that because of what I’m saying! I want you to fight back and show them that we mean it! Instead of always cowering around and acting like it’s fine, direct a hit for once! Gosh, you can be such a coward sometimes.”

Rey’s eyebrows furrowed. “You know, I wish we never met BB-8,” she said. “I wished that you would leave him alone as it is. Maybe then, we wouldn’t be stuck where we are now. Maybe you should of left him alone.”

“Oh, we’re going to put the blaming factor on me?” you bellowed. “Haha! So, guess what I wish then. I wish that I never got stuck on that planet with you! I wish that you fought up against Unkar and got half of what we earned in our pockets. And I wish that we left you behind!”

You turned around sharply and dashed off. You were just so frustrated and upset. You couldn’t take anymore of Rey’s bs. All of it. You were sick of her prattling around like an idiot. Though she wasn’t one, it was just…gawd, she made you so mad!

You felt a tear slide down as you sat down against a tree and began to cry.

You never got this angry with her before. Sure, there was the occasional arguments about Unkar or deal, but this was just horrible. It went to a whole other level.

You glanced up at the sun, watching it streak its rays throughout the forest. The rays glimmered around all of the greenery, shimmering the plants and leaves.

You prepared to get up when you heard a beep beside you.

BB-8 rolled over to you, asking what was wrong.

“What are you doing...oh, forget it...," you grumbled. “Everything's fine. It’s just Rey…she made me upset.”

 The droid beeped.

“Because she’s making up the same bs again. They’re coming back. It’s the way of life. I have to watch over you. I’m just so done with it! Gawd, I feel like punching her in the face!”

BB-8 let out a disapproving beep.

“Ok, so maybe that’s a bit harsh,” you admitted. “Still…it’s just, I’m tired of it. For once, here we are, at this marvelous forest, full of life and other people to talk to…and she wants to run away from it. Like, yeah, what Maz said was creepy but…it doesn’t mean we have to live that life…we can go with Han...or someone else...”

BB-8 beeped out a sad woo.

“What, you’ll miss me if I go?” you inquired.

The droid bobbed his body around and rolled closer to you.

“Ha! Guess you can say that,” you snickered. “How else am I going to leave without saying goodbye to the droid that made this all happen. Not to mention, thank goodness there’s Han and Chewie that got us here…”

 BB-8 rolled his body happily.

“I think I’ll miss you too,” you said. “I mean…if it wasn’t for you, I’d probably be droning on the same routine every day…then Rey wouldn’t realize there’s more to the world than just scavenging…and she has Finn…” You chuckled over that. “Well, I don’t know how she feels about him still…feelings mutual you can say.”

The droid stuck out his antenna higher, agreeing with you.

You laughed as he made a point about maybe that was why Rey was so moody…she was going to miss Finn. She did ask him why he was mysteriously leaving…as he revealed the truth about himself. The guy that particularly helped you escape Jakku…was now leaving off on his own…

You suddenly felt sorry for your sister, remembering how excited they got when they shot down the TIE Fighters, teaming up with Han and Chewie to take down the gang…not many moments together but it was like there was some sort of connection to him…

You shook your head. “Poor Rey…doesn’t mean she has to take it out on me!”

BB-8 whirled over to you and popped out what looked like a tiny arm. The arm raised above to your cheek and patted it.

You smiled and crouched over to the droid. “Thank you, BB,” you said. “Thank you for coming into my life…if it wasn’t really for you, my life would still suck and be the same…also, thanks for calming me down before I ram Rey a blow….”

BB-8 flickered out what looked like a lighter and ignited it a bit.

You laughed at this and hugged the droid, wrapping your arms around him.

The droid hummed out a cheerful beep, rolling away from you and joyfully bouncing around.

You continued to giggle at this, smiling cutely at the droid dancing.

Suddenly, BB-8 stopped and let out a warning whoo and began to zoom away. He dashed over to a tree and popped his head out little by little.

“BB? What’s wrong?” you asked. It startled you a bit to see him take off like that, like he was afraid of something. There was an aura of danger lurking around you.

You raced over to the droid to protect him. You wrapped your arms around him, hoping to calm him. He was quivering. “BB, are you ok? What did you see?”

The droid glanced up at you and took out its arm, pointing to the direction.

You gulped as you prepared to turn your head around to find out what it was.

You felt your muscles froze though as you tried to turn back. You tensed yourself up as you attempted once more, your feet latched onto the ground and your arms locked in place.

 Fear warped into your body.

What the heck? you thought. The adrenaline in your body was pumping shivers as flight settled into your mind for an escape.

You heard a robotic, mechanical voice boom to you and the droid, purring softly toward your ear. “Thank you so much for finding him for me. I’ve been looking everywhere. Now, finally, I have it.”

Your eyes gazed over to a figure in black, standing a few feet away from where you and BB stood. The figure was dressed in black robes with a mask and hood, covering his identity.

He strolled over to both of you, taking his time.

“For your reward, I think I’ll like to take you onboard the ship with me…you’ll make a fine servant.”

The words fine servant didn’t exactly translate to what you thought. No, the way he said them had a deeper, darker, menacing meaning. You for sure weren’t going to exactly do chores for him.

“BB, run!” you yelped. You then realized that you had your arms around the droid and that it was sort of impossible for him to do so.

Regardless, BB-8 struggled to get out of your arms, glancing around for any escape.

You tried to move your muscles around as well, but the grip on them tighten and you yelped as you felt pain throughout your body.

The figure was getting closer now, almost about to hover over you and BB.

You could hear him chuckle a bit, enjoying his work.

You thrust your head against BB’s head, shedding a tear down your cheek.  Fear flooded into your brain, of all the possible things he could do to you…and to BB after he got what he wanted…

 Oh please no! you pleaded.

“Get away from her!” Rey hollered. She shot out a blast, directing to the back of the figure’s head.

The figure whirled around and whipped out a red glowing lightsaber, deflecting it toward her. Rey dodged it, ducking beneath a rock.

The concentration on her now loosened your muscles a bit as you began to move. You let go of BB quickly.

“Run!” you shouted. The droid shook his head, determined to stay with you, worried what would happen.

You turned back over to the figure, who was grasping his fingers together. Rey stood up in the air a bit, gasping for breath. She moved her arms wildly, her hands clutching onto her neck.

“Move and your sister dies,” the figure warned. He darted his lightsaber at you, noting of the blaster you had hidden.

You glanced from him to your sister, unsure to make a decision.

Stupidly, you ran over to the figure, charging head first into him. The figure smirked underneath his mask and withdrew his lightsaber. He held out his hand, sure to catch you.

Surprisingly though, two things happened. BB bolted over to the figure and sparked out his zapper, attempting to shock him. The tiny zap was nothing but than a tickle to the figure as he turned his head to glare at him. You then soared right into the figure, diving head on into his stomach, hearing behind the mask the figure gasping out air. You both tumbled a bit to the ground.

You lifted your head up as you got off of the figure, grumbling from the push.

“Holy crap! I just rammed that guy!” you cheered.

You were pulled away as Rey tugged you toward her. “We need to get out of here, now!” she roared.

You turned your head around to find out where BB was and found him rolling along with you, dashing off as well.

You all then came upon a field of Stormtroopers all passed out on the ground. Smoke rose up into the air.

You spied a couple of people heading straight toward some ship. It was occupied by a guy in some sort of uniform.

“Come on! Get in!” he encouraged.

You went with your gut feeling and dived toward the guy, taking you, your sister and BB-8 on board.

“That’s it!” the guy hollered. He turned to the pilot, nodding his head. The pilot pressed a couple of buttons and you all were off to space again.

You must have passed out during the trip because when you woke up, you were on a different planet. You glanced up to see you were in some sort of base, the sky being similar to Takodana’s, the greenery around the same except you were in some sort of ship docking area. You were leaning against some cargo.

And Rey was shaking you by the shoulders.

“Wake up,” she said. You turned up to her.

 “Where are we?” you asked.

 "D,Qar,” she said.

 You frowned. “Another planet?”

“Yeah, we’re here with the Resistance,” Rey said. “And…it seems like we’re never going to go back home.”

You grumbled and rolled your eyes. “Rey…”

“Because I decided until we clear our names, I’m not going to go back to that scumbag,” Rey chuckled.

You laughed. “So, you finally take my advice.”

Rey nodded. “I thought about what you said on board the ship a bit. You’re right…I guess I was just so caught up with that promise and…I didn’t think that it was not only effecting you but it was to me as well…I’m the one who keeps living in this fantasyland that they will return...all because I felt that I was protecting you…yet I was ignoring how you felt…not to mention, with our encounter with the First Order...there's no way we'll return to Jakku...”

“It’s ok,” you said, getting up. “Whatever mess we’re in now…we’ll get through this. We have the Resistance now too. Who knows…maybe we’ll find them and get to the bottom of this…”

 “Maybe,” Rey said.

You scanned around the area. “Where’s BB-8? And how the heck did I pass out?”

Rey smiled. “BB’s with Poe now. And you passed out after excitedly telling me about how you rammed into that man. You scared BB and he accidentally shocked you...I guess all that energy got drained from it and you just passed out.”

 “Wait, Poe?”

“Yep, he’s alive and well. Turns out, he survived. You should go see him. He’s been wanting to thank the other sister in helping his droid survive.”

“And I’ll do that just now,” you said. “Where is he?”

“Right over there,” Rey pointed, to a black X-Wing. In front of it, was a man in an orange pilot jumpsuit, talking to a familiar ball-like robot.

You walked over to the man and the droid.

BB-8 spotted you and shrieked out a jubilant woo! He raced over to you and nudged your leg. You crawled down to him and hugged.

“Hey, BB!” you said. “Glad to see you around.”

The little droid bounced around crazily and zoomed to Poe, twirling his head from him to you.

 “So you must be…”

You stopped cold as you caught the features of BB’s owner. Damn…he was fine. The way his eyes were grazing over you, examining and his black, somewhat curly hair waving in the wind…it made you want to drool. You managed to control your womanly heart, reminding yourself to present as “lady-like” as you gulped and tried to speak again.

“And you must be the other sister who rescued my droid,” Poe said. “Thank you…I ...we...wouldn’t know what do without him.”

“Err…it was…nothing,” you said timidly. How the heck were you suppose to talk to him? He was just so…curse his fineness! He was making your lady hormones go wild.

“Nothing but a great heap of trouble he must have been,” Poe said, walking closer to you. “Still…I bet you managed to get by.”

 “I…your welcome?” you said, confused.

“No, thank you a lot,” Poe smiled. He wrapped his arms around you for a hug.

You gulped, feeling your face go hot and your cheeks burning red.

He pulled away but still steadied his arms around you.

“Say…mind if I ask you something?” he asked.

 You flushed. “Umm…what?” you mumbled.

Poe’s smile widen. “I was wondering if you’re not doing anything if you would like to…”

He yipped as the sound of a zap sparked at the bottom of his feet. You glimpsed to see what it was and laughed.

BB-8 had his zapper out, shocking Poe in the leg. He buzzed out an angry wooboo!

“What was that for?!” Poe snapped, crouching down to him. “That’s not like you…”

The droid burst open a handful of beeps and buzzes. You tried to translate what he was saying but it was all fast and sudden.

“Well, sorry,” Poe said, getting up and raising his arms up like he did something wrong. “All right, I’ll leave her alone…”

He turned over you and shook his head. “Stop by my quarters later,” he winked.

You felt your face go even hotter.

 BB-8 latched out his lighter.

“All right! All right, I’m going!” Poe said, laughing and walking over to a post.

You frowned and turned over to BB-8, who rolled over you and cuddled his head against your legs.

“What was that all about?” you asked.

The droid hummed and danced around.

"Come on, BB, that's not like you," you said, frowning.

The droid just continued on rolling around, like he didn't do anything wrong. He then began to spin, doing what looked like a trick, beeping.

You giggled at this but then shook your head. "All right, come on, BB, tell me. Why did you do that to Poe? He was just being nice..."

The droid was about to answer when he heard someone call him over. He buzzed angrily before turning over to you, promising that he'll come back. He then dashed off.

You heard Rey behind you giggled. You turned over to her.

"Did you see that?" you asked. "What got into him?"

Rey kept on laughing but eventually stopped. "He likes you," she said.

You gapped. "Ok. No really, what was up with him?"

Rey smiled. "He likes you," she repeated. "Don't you see? He was getting all hyped when Poe started hugging you so he felt the need to..."

You shook your head, confused. "BB has a crush on me?" You pondered this for a bit. "How?"

Rey shook her head. "Well, for one, you're pretty and two, he was confessing to me on the ship about how cool you were with saving him from me, then the bandits, then Kylo and..."

As she continued on, you smiled at the things BB said about you. He developed a good crush as you began to hang around him more, proving that you were more than just a pretty face and a awesome personality, kicking butt, scared upon Poe getting a little too "friendly"...

You shook your head and laughed. "Looks like not only did he saved me, but I saved him," you giggled.
